SPARK’s Communities of Practice (CoP) is a strategic, time-bound initiative designed as intentional collaborative spaces where members learn from one another, share resources, and explore innovative approaches to advance their practice. For the winter term, these CoPs focus on AI and UDL.
Rooted in a philosophy that emphasizes a “lead-learner” approach with tangible contributions; the ultimate goal of these CoPs is engaging in ongoing reflective dialogue and applied exploration. Members build practical strategies, deepen expertise, and contribute to Sheridan’s culture of teaching and learning excellence.
For winter 2026, SPARK is piloting two CoPs:
UDL CoP with a goal to create a Sheridan UDL “Quick-Start” Card Deck & Digital Repository.
And AI CoP with Three Inquiry Streams:
Stream 1: The Student Experience Lab with a goal to create a digital, student-facing toolkit.
Stream 2: The Faculty Workflow Lab with a goal to create The Faculty “10-Hour Back” Playbook - A collection of proven “recipes” for reclaiming time in course prep and admin.
Stream 3: The Integrity & Ethics Lab with a goal to create a Sheridan Transparency Matrix - A standardized, practical framework for syllabus design and assignment disclosure.
These CoPs meet biweekly for 45 minutes during the winter semester. Registration is currently closed, if you are interested in joining future CoPs, please contact SPARK Support.
